The study tour to Tokyo, Japan was successfully held during 12-16 March, 2018. All participants enjoyed this valuable exchange with fruitful takeaways. Through the annual study tour, the Association aims to widen the horizons of local retail practitioners by letting them to experience Japan's renowned service culture and to exchange ideas with fellow Japanese retailers. The study tour is also one of the recognitions given to the winners of the 2017 Service & Courtesy Award.
A total of 41 retail elites from 25 retail companies joined the trip this year, with 36 of them are the winners of the 2017 Service & Courtesy Award. During the journey, participants totally immersed in the Japanese service culture and learnt the best practice of their retail service and staff training.

The Association received a total of 501 participants from 97 brands for 2018 Service & Courtesy Award. The participating companies have been grouped into 18 categories for the Junior Frontline Level, 14 categories for the Supervisory Level, 'New Participating Brands' Category and the 'Social Enterprises' Category. Furthermore, 22 brands have enrolled the new 'Retail Excellence Award'
